Our 8th Birthday! – Bahrain V2 Public Beta Release

Exactly 8 years ago, we started a little project. Today the “Cars & Tracks Development Project” is one of the most respected modding group’s. We could never have expected such success would happen, Our mods are used on public simulators, on TV, even at Games Convention’s. We did a lot of mods for many different games in the past eight years and for sure we will continune our work for rFactor and its successor.

Bahrain International Circuit v1.0 was the first CTDP release for rFactor and brought you one of the newest and also most exciting GP circuits in the modern era, Dusty surface and desert feeling guaranteed!

  1. Happy Birthday CTDP.
We look forward for the next 8 years 🙂

And many thx for Bahrain V2 🙂 I’m sure, we will love it 😉

  2. Hapy 8th birthday. Live long and prosper

Thanks for Bahrain, i have downloaded it and it looks amaizing, better than on screens.

  3. I can still remember when you guys called yourself “Carshape and texture design project”. It seems like yesterday (What a cliché xD). Congratulations!

  4. Thanks for the new track guys, love turn 4, so much better than the previous version. The track looks so much more detailed, and still keeps the FPS up alot better than v1.

I did notice a couple of objects with a short lod out value, mainly around the edges of the circuit. It was noticeable that an object loaded in but couldn’t quite see what.

Also i think you could of done a bit better with the kerb textures. Looking at pictures from the F1 etc, the v1 kerb textures suited a lot more, mainly due to the bold red colour used in v2 which needs to be toned down..

Other than that, very very nice track. Thanks 🙂

  5. Happy Birthday CTDP!!!

Great track first Beta from CTDP but even for a beta a great release.

  6. Herzlichen Glückwunsch Sportsfreunde !
Leider habe ich noch nie etwas von CTDP gehört !?^^

BravoBravoBravo Burschies..eure neue Sakhir Strecke ist ein Traum !

    GlückAuf
    Holger

  7. Uhm, probably I missed something: when it’s my birthday, I usually receive gifts, not the opposite…! 😆

Happy Birthday CTDP! I wasn’t a big fan of this track, but during the years I learned to drive on it a bit better and now it’s often the track I use for testing cars.

Maybe it’s not much, but… THANK YOU! 😉

  8. I may have an issue to report, I think the start/finish line (where the stopwatch starts counting your laptime) is not visible on the track surface. I’m not referring to the line immediately in front of the P1 slot, but the one that is a little after the pit entry, where the lap begins..

It might be that it is also not visible on the real track, in which case, no issue there…I can’t remember off the top of my head, but I do think there is a line there in the real circuit..

    Reporting it for your consideration…

  9. I also found one issue. In ferrari’s garage on the place where Massa’s car stand’s,there on the wall says Schumacher, and for Schumacher’s part of garage Massa.

  10. I also found one issue. In Massa’s garage on the wall behind the car says “Schumacher” and on Schumacher’s garage wall says “Massa”

  11. thanks for the nice words everyone! 🙂

@Sam: The difference in the Kerb-textures is, that the old one’s white was too dull, I gave it more contrast, as the kerbs where very bright in 2005/2006. Don’t compare the track with today.

  12. I finally had some time to try this new track and… I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the dust coming up from behind the car when I drove inside the pitlane and on the dirty side of the track! Amazing!!!

  13. Just tested! I can’t wait the final release now! 😉 GREAT JOB! And happy birthday! Long life to you!

  14. PLEASE CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME HOW TO SET BETTER VIEW DISTANCE BECAUSE I HAVE OBJECTS APPEARING WHEN I DRIVE ON BAHRAIN TRACK???

  15. you can’t yourself and shouting about it isn’t going to change that. it’s only a beta so obviously there are going to be problems.

  16. I have the exact same problem as the shouting guy. The sad thing is that I have a race on this track on saturday and it’s pretty much impossible to drive when the corners just suddenly appear in front of you. Otherwise the track seems very nice.

  17. I don’t understand this problem. In fact some objects may popup but these are far away and do not affect racing itself. I had so many laps on this track (with CTDP06) and there never was such a “corners just suddenly appear” problem.

  18. I found the solution to the problem. Just turn off the “auto detail fps” option in the options menu.
