Workload 1994

One of the aims of the development blog was to give you a more transparent look at what we are currently doing and what the status of the mod is. We know we seem to work slow, we very often hear criticism about it. We are in no hurry, we don’t have to proof anything, we work on it for fun and we release it once we feel it is ready for release. This is one of the advantages we have earned in the last few years.

Still people complaining are bugging us. It is demotiving and doesn’t help anyone. Often I have the feeling they don’t know what workload it actually is to produce such a mod. So we started compiling a list of all tasks involving the 1994 mod. I don’t claim this list to be complete, but it gives you a rough overview what we will be facing once we are done with 2006. The list for the 2006-mod was about the same length.

  1. Uhm, I’m still scrolling down the page, this mean the list is quite long! 😀

Joking a part, I remember an interview you did for our website where you claimed that 2007 would have been the right year for 1994 mod too. It wasn’t right, amen.
2006 screenshots look gorgeous and the wait will certainly be repayed.
People who complain is not a big help, for sure, but I think we all have to face the new reality: with so many mods for rF, many of us usually wait for “the next big thing” and then they put it aside after few laps for the next one who seems more interesting. Try to think, instead, to all the “Thank you” you will receive after your work is completed: they’ll be muuuuuuch more! 😉

It seems I forgot to say something… uhm, yeah! Merry Christmas to all the team! xD

  2. im waiting this mod…and im waiting it only from the ctdp…ive bought rfactor….a good computer and the logitech g25 for drive YOURS MOD 1994…its the only reason ispent that money…ill always support this team…always…because its the best and the quality its much better then the mod from ISI…so funny…anyway..ill wait wait wait wait…i dont care..but hope arrive soon the day when i wake in the morning and i can drive this wonderful season…good job guys…ps: i always check everyday the development blog for get information about the 1994… 🙂 thanks guy for everything…for make me happy

  3. Hallo,
Ich denke dass ihr es nicht nötig habt euch hier zu rechtfertigen. Sollen doch die Leute die immer was zu meckern haben selber mal einen Mod machen, dann wissen die mal was das heißt.

Wer einen wirklich Super Mod fahren will, soll doch dann einfach warten.

  4. This is not meant as justification. Instead I think the only way to make people realise why we take to long is to be transparent and show what our work involves. This tasklist is part of it.

  5. It would be nice if you started the 2008 mod after the first round of the 08 season. This would help you release it shortly after the end of the season.. at least I think it would.. which I think would be the best situation for both of us.

    Just a thought 🙂

  6. Hallo auch wir warten selbstverständlich auf das neuste Werk von CTDP. Wir sind uns der großen Arbeit bewußt und warten auch gern etwas länger, haben dann aber einen Mod der auch eine längere Motivationskurve hat.
    @Ahmad
I dont know actually if the ctdp team will be work on a 2008 F1 Mod.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to the Team and all other Racers

    keep racing

  7. That’s a tough question actually.
We did have problems with getting new members in 2006, some only joined for a few weeks and left. There was a big change in the way we construct mods witg the move to rFactor. For F1C, members could work more independantly and get cars ingame and test on their own. rFactor increased the complexity of mods so much, that Andy and me have to get all finished cars and prepare them for ingame. Starting with shaders, multitexture channels, upgrades, skins …
To have a harmonic mod, this all have to be set up similar and it is hard to coordinate and actually only very few CAN do this job. So Andy and me are a bottleneck, definately, but having more members wouldn’t change this. On a positive not, of course this is also very good quality assurane, because we have our eyes on everything.

  8. this 94 mod looks great….
i saw every progress til the tdg release…where trasher was the designer of the cars….

i love and i want this great mod

    thx guys

  9. Yes Merry XMAS CTDP Team!!!
Enjoy the break, as I think most of us will give you one for now. But be sure that we will all be on your case early 2008 to make sure that release date is approaching!
    😉

  10. @CBastos

Easy tiger about being on there case for 2008 release date 😉

Personally I can’t wait for any CTDP mod, but the wait will be worth it as CTDP only release quality and not rushed out half completed rubbish which will only dissapoint us fans 🙂

Happy new year to you all 🙂

  11. Development blog are added when there is something to add, I guess. 🙂
As they wrote in homepage, in this period there were less updates because of holidays. It’s good to be kept updated, but I think it’s pointless to read everyday “Ehy, we added a new logo to this car”, instead of (even one time per week or whenever CTDP decide it) “We completed a new car, have a look”. Hope you understand what I mean. ^^

  12. Looking forward to the Mod.
I really enjoy playing the 05 season a lot.
I just hope cornering will be alittle bit tougher, because it feels like my car is on rails or something.

But you did a good job anyway.
    Keep your spirits up.

    Guten Rutsch.
